MOWA Cultural Center

The mission of the MOWA Band of Choctaw Indians is to promote, protect, and preserve the spiritual, cultural, and physical values of the tribe; to enhance the overall quality of life of the MOWA Choctaw people; and to obtain federal recognition.

The Choctaw Indians of Mobile and Washington Counties are located about 35 miles north of Mobile, AL. They are a state-recognized Native American tribe located along the banks of the Mobile and Tombigbee rivers near the small southwestern Alabama communities of McIntosh, Mount Vernon and Citronelle.
